POONCH, Mar 28: A woman was killed while two others were injured when a Tata Sumo skidded off the road and fell into Suran river near Faislabad in Suranakote last evening.
A police spokesman said that the mishap took place when the vehicle No. JK-12/6184 was moving towards Shahdara Sharief from Surankote area. The driver stopped the vehicle to fetch something from the shop and he kept vehicle start. The vehicle started moving, the women cried for help but it rolled into the nearby river. One woman was killed on the spot while two others were seriously injured. They were rushed to Surankote hospital.
The deceased was identified as Kalsoom Akhtar, wife of Mohd Latief of Faislabad. The two injured referred to GMC hospital, Jammu were identified as Aalia Khatoon, wife of Altaf Hussain and Raseela Begum, wife of Mohd Bashir, residents of Faislabad. The police has registered a case in this connection.
