Govt to provide 100 units of power free to relief holders in camps

JAMMU, Mar 28: The State Government has decided to provide 100 units of electricity consumed by the registered Kashmiri Migrants under relief category who have been provided structured flats and who enter into an agreement with the PDD as per Electricity Act 2010 and supply code regulations per month free.
An order to this effect was issued here today by Commissioner Secretary to Government Revenue Department, B A Ronyal.
As per the order the expenditure on this account shall be borne by the State Government through Relief Organization (Migrants) till the approval to the re-imbursement of the same is received from the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India under Security Related Expenditure (SRE).
The charges on account of consumption of electricity in excess of 100 units per month however shall have to be paid by the individual consumer and in default of payment, the appropriate action as warranted under Electricity Act, 2010, PDD will be taken.
The Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner, R K Pandita said that agreement forms have been made available at all camps with Camp Commandants for the convenience of the Migrants.
He however made it clear that this benefit will be given to relief holders putting up in structured flats only.
