NC snatched, BJP failed to restore jobs to Kalakote youth: Ex-MLA

RAJOURI, Feb 16: Former Legislator and national coordinator AICC Vichar Vibhag Ashok Sharma today urged upon the Government to restore Thermal Power House and Coal Mines of Kalakote to give candid employment to thousands of unemployed youth of the area.
While addressing meeting of Assembly and Blocks Youth Congress office bearers of Kalakote consistency today, Sharma said that Thermal Power House and Coal Mines of Kalakote were the main source of earning bread and butter (employment) for about seven thousands two hundred families in the years 1960’s – 80’s which uplifted the economical status of the area and closing of these running projects by the Farooq’s Government have resulted into big set back for the people of Kalakote.
Sharma further said that the Central Government have already abolished State Civil Service Cadre and have scrapped the age relaxation clause used to compensate youth against their suffering due to long drawn insurgency. He criticised the Union Government for not providing two crores employment to youth each year and said that this year budgetary provisions have provided only 2.46 lakhs employment opportunities all over the country keeping the educated youth high and dry resulting into depending of trust deficit and unrest among the youth.
Nakul Sharma, State secretary, JKPYC added that recommissioning of the Thermal Power House Kalakote and opening of 13 Coal Mines besides installing 7 micro hydel projects on Manavar Tawi at Chingus-Teryath river at Thandapani (for these two projects global tenders were invited in 2000-02), Treru river at Moghla Beraigala, Galan Tawi at Nardamajra, Dalori River at Salyote, Kalakote river at Barigala Tatapani, Kalalkass river and Nehari and Kalakote Sangam at Dawal will generate more than ten thousand employment for unskilled and semi-skilled youth of Kalakote Assembly segment besides absorbing all the 450 technical graduates trained under PSS Scheme send by ICELA in Rajasthan University during UPA-2 headed by Dr Manmohan Singh from Kalakote Constituency.
Darbari Lal, Councillor, MC Kalakote, SS Khajuria, president, Assembly Youth Congress, Kalakote also spoke on the occasion. Prominent among those present on the occasion included S Nirmal Singh, District secretary, Rajouri; Darshan Sharma, general secretary, AYC Kalakote, Javid Iqbal and Ashish Sharma, Assembly secretaries, Happy Sharma, Joginder Kumar (Panchs), Zail-ul-Haq Block president and others.
