Several members raise issues of public importance

JAMMU, Mar 28: Several Members raised the issues of public importance during Zero Hour in the Legislative Assembly today.
Indu Pawar demanded developing of Shama Chack village as Model village in view of its historical significance. Irfan Shah demanded dewatering of flood water from Bara Pather Batmalloo. Baldev Sharma called for extension in One Time Settlement (OTS) by PDD beyond March 31 to facilitate the consumers.
Er. Abdul Rashid   demanded early repair of electric transformers in his constituency. Shamima Firdous demanded early passing of Anti-Rape law in the State on the analogy of Centre Government. Hakim Mohammad Yasin called for expeditious completion of on-going projects under PMGSY in his constituency.
Prof. Gharu Ram Bhagat demanded installation of portrait of Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar in the Assembly lobby. Mohammad Sharief Niaz demanded inquiry into the alleged irregularities in the allotment of works on Gandoh road.
Dr. Sheikh Mustafa Kamaal demanded early postings of newly appointed teachers under ReT. Krishan Chander Bhagat demanded opening of treasuries at Panchari and Gordi areas. Bharat Bhushan called for implementation of Shiv Khori Master Plan at the earliest.
Ashok Kumar demanded setting up of workshop in Ramban-Banihal area for repair of damaged electric transformers. Aijaz Jan demanded release of pending salaries of ICDS workers and promotions in various cadres  in the Social Welfare Department.
R.S.Sharma demanded rehabilitation package for the border migrants of Nowshera-Rajouri on the pattern of Khour migrants. Ashwani Kumar Sharma demanded adequate funds for upgradation of Deaf & Dumb School at Jammu. He expressed concern over the plight of the inmates who are protesting for lack of basic facilities.
Yashpaul Kundal called for proper renovation and conservation of Samba heritage fort. Master Lal Chand called for early filling up of all vacant posts of teachers in Bani constituency. Rashpal Singh demanded exploring the possibilities for establishment two Coal Mines in Kalakote.
Harshdev Singh alleged discrimination in up-gradation of schools in Jammu division despite being sanctioned by the Centre. He called for fixing responsibility and making the erring officers accountable for the lapse.
A.G. Malik demanded that the newly up graded schools in Jammu winter Zone be made functional before the start of admission process i.e. 10th April, 2013.
Balwant Singh Mankotia raised the issue of non-payment of  compensation to the owners  in Udhampur whose land was acquired by the Army authorities and urged the Government for taking up the issue with the Higher Defence  authorities. He also sought recruitment for the wards of people whose land is acquired by the Army.             Mohammad Ashraf Ganai also raised the issues pertaining to his constituency.
