JAMMU, Feb 16: A youth allegedly committed suicide today by consuming some poisonous substance in Khour tehsil of Jammu.
According to police sources, a 24-year-old youth namely Mukesh Kumar son of Chaman Lal, resident of Seri Plai (Khour) consumed some poisonous substance at his residence after which his family members took him to a nearby Government hospital from where he was referred to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu but he died there during treatment.
They said the body of the deceased was shifted to mortuary room of the hospital and its postmortem will be conducted tomorrow while Khour police had taken cognizance of the matter.
