Teachers, pensioners hold joint dharna

JAMMU, Mar 28: Seeking restoration of Dev Lata as Director School Education Jammu and highlighting some other demands, a protest dharna was organized by All Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh Teachers Federation, here today.
Members of All J&K Pensioners Association also joined the dharna wherein slogans were raised for restoration of Dev Lata as DSE Jammu. They were also demanding release of 6th Pay Commission arrears in one installment, enhancement of Medical Allowance of Government pensioners and employees, rationalization of transfer policy and promotion policy and selection grade for under Graduate teachers, etc.
The dharna was addressed by Mukand Lal Sharma, Madan Lal Abrol, Madan Lal Sharma, B L Bhardwaj, Maheshwar Prasad, Sukhdev Sharma, Shyam Lal, Tej Ram, K K Sharma, Sardari Lal, Ram Pal Saini, Balwan Singh, Mohinder Singh, G L Bhagat, Pitamber Lal Sharma, Gulzar Hussain, Phoolan Koul, Sat Paul, Nawab Din, Kuldeep Bharti, Bhushan Pargal, Ashok Raina and others.
They warned that if the Government does not concede their genuine demands, a joint action committee would be formulated to launch a vigorous agitation soon.
