Fraudster booked for obtaining fictitious PRC

JAMMU, Feb 18: Crime Branch Jammu has booked a fraudster for obtaining fictitious Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC) and yielding concomitant benefits.
A criminal case has been registered against accused- Mohinder Pal Singh son of Piara Lal of Korotana Kalan, Tehsil Suchetgarh, R S Pura Jammu, A/P Village Magarpur, P.O Mustafabad, Tehsil Jagadhri, District Yamuna Nagar, Haryana for fraudulently obtaining PRC in connivance with the concerned revenue officials, by virtue of which he took all the benefits of being a resident of Jammu and Kashmir, including allotment of land at village Korotana Kalan Tehsil Suchetgarh R S Pura District, Jammu, getting compensation of Rs 5,49,665.00 from the Government fraudulently, thereby cheating the Jammu and Kashmir Government.
A written complaint was lodged by one Gurnam Singh of Nai Basti, Korotana Khurd, Tehsil Suchetgarh, Jammu, against the accused for having fraudulently procured PRC (Permanent Resident Certificate) PRC and subsequently yielding all the benefits as resident of Jammu and Kashmir.
Crime Branch Jammu initiated criminal proceedings into the matter by initiating preliminary verification and during the course of enquiry the allegations were prima-facie established, leading to the registration of the instant case, under proper sections of law, for in-depth investigation. The investigation of the case has been set in motion.
