Jammu, Feb 18: A delegation of Jammu and Kashmir Joint Churches Fellowship Jammu today called on the Lieutenant Governor, Girish Chandra Murmu at the Raj Bhavan.
The delegation led by its President, Rev. Shaukat Peter apprised the Lt Governor about various welfare issues of Christian Community including allotment of land for developing colony, jobs, reservation in appointment of members of the Community in J&K UT Minority Commission, provision of Quota on the analogy applicable to Social Caste Category at Centre, representation in JMC etc.
Meanwhile, a delegation of All J&K Diploma Engineers Association called on the Lt Governor and projected their concerning issues and demands pertaining to Career Progression Scheme for removing the stagnation of Diploma Engineers, removal of additional qualifying bar at the level of AEE and Executive Engineer, filling of vacant posts at the level of AE, AEE and Executive Engineer in all the engineering wings.
The Lt Governor gave a patient hearing to the issues and demands projected by the members of the delegations and assured them to address their genuine concerns for their early redressal. He observed that the Government is working towards the welfare of every section of the society which is a prerequisite to ensuring the holistic development of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
