PDD daily wagers protest against delay in regularization

JAMMU, Mar 28: Alleging un-necessary delay in their regularization, PDD daily wagers held a strong protest demonstration in front of the office of Chief Engineer EM&RE Wing, Jammu, here today.
During the protest, which was held under the banner of All J&K PDD Daily Wagers Union, they raised slogans against the Government and demanded issuance of the order of  regularization within two days. They also announced to go on pen down tool down strike on March 30 if their demand is not conceded in two days.
The protest dharna was addressed Kulbir Singh, who rued that despite completion of all the formalities, the Government was not issuing the order for  regularization of eligible daily wagers. He alleged that the department was adopting dilly dally tactics for delaying their regularization without any reason.
Highlighting the sufferings of daily wagers, the union leader appealed Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to issue necessary instructions for the regularization with immediate effect. He alleged that it was only because of the delay in regularization that one of the PDD daily wagers, namely Sanjay Ganjoo had committed suicide recently.
Others who addressed the protest dharna, included Kulbhushan Singh, Tarun Gupta, Balwinder Singh, Deepak Sharma, Vikramjeet, Ramesh, Vikas, Raju Saini, Pappu, Farooq Ahmed, Brij Raj Singh, Sanjay Kumar and Surinder Kohli.
