RAJOURI, Mar 28: Seven members of a family including women and children were injured as a mini-LPG cylinder (5kg), exploded in the kitchen, in Budhal area of district Rajouri on Wednesday.
A police spokesman said that the incident took place at around 3 pm at Rajnagar, Budhal when family women were busy in cooking and their children were also nearby. Suddenly, the LPG cylinder exploded with big bang, causing injuries to at least seven family members of two brothers.
SHO Budhal Madan Lal along with police party rushed to the spot. The injured were rushed to District Hospital Rajouri in GREF vehicle on request of SHO and locals.
The injured were identified as Shehnaz Begum (32), wife of Abdul Latief, Hasina Akhtar (4) daughter of Abdul Latief, Nasim Akhtar (35), wife of Mohd Amin, Zahida Kouser, wife of Abdul Wahid, Mohd Kafeel (3), son of Abdul Wahid, Zairoon Begum, wife of Abdul Wahid and Maria Akhtar (6), daughter of Abdul Wahid. The police has taken cognizance of the matter.
