Crime Branch arrests fraudster

JAMMU, Feb 19: Crime Branch Jammu (CBJ) arrested a fraudster from Jodhpur area of Rajasthan for duping a man to the tune of Rs 1.69 crore.
As per official spokesman, CBJ arrested a fraudster identified as Parvin Kumar Ninawe, son of Krishan Rao Ninawe of Choti Dhantoli, near Pervardhan Ground Renuka Mata Enclave Nagpur, Maharashtra from Jodhpur area of Rajasthan. He was wanted in a case registered under FIR Number 45/2019 under Section 420 RPC with Police Station Gandhi Nagar, now under investigation with Crime Branch Jammu for duping the complainant to the tune of Rs 1,69,54,742 on the pretext of providing supply of food grains, the spokesman added.
“The fraudster was evading his arrest since long but the Crime Branch team with its coordinated efforts and meticulous planning succeeded in arresting the fraudster to face the investigation. The accused is involved in various other cases of fraud in different States across India, which includes fraud of Rs 40 lakh in Jodhpur, 12 lakh in Indore, 6.50 lakh in Bathinda and a case of fraud committed in Karnataka”, the spokesman stated.
A written complaint was lodged by Proprietor of Shona Trust Corporation Nehru Market Jammu Suresh Gupta, son of Ved Parkash Gupta of Krishna Nagar with Police Station Gandhi Nagar alleging that Parveen Niwane, offered him to supply food grains on advance payment of Rs. 3.11 crores in the year 2009, the spokesman said, adding that the alleged accused supplied food grains valuing Rs 1,41,45,258 and for remaining amount of Rs 1,69,54,742, the suspect issued a cheque for an amount of Rs 60 lakh but the said cheque got bounced thus the accused cheated the complainant.
“The investigation of the case was transferred to Crime Branch J&K. During further course of investigation, it came to fore that the accused was convicted in four cases under 138 NI Act by Judicial Magistrate 1st Class Chandigarh Punjab and is lodged in Central Jail Jodhpur. The request was made before this court for change of custody of said accused from Central Jail Jodhpur to CBJ. The court issued arrest warrant of accused under section 25 Police Act with direction to Superintendent of Jail to hand over accused to Crime Branch Jammu for further investigation. The accused is on police remand and further investigation is going on”, the spokesman informed.
The spokesman said that IO ASI Tarsem Raj, during the course of investigation recorded the statement of complainant, seized original agreement executed between the parties for supply of food grains and received payment slips from National Commodities Supply Corporation of the India and obtained the transaction statements from the Punjab National Bank Shalimar Chowk and JK Bank Residency Road Jammu.
