Five bovines rescued

SAMBA, Feb 20: Ghagwal police foiled a bovine smuggling bid and rescued 5 bovine animals.
“A police party of police station Ghagwal while performing vehicle checking duty at Naka NHW Tapyal intercepted a Mahindra Balero vehicle (without registration number) coming from Kathua side,” a police official said.
He said the driver on seeing the police party abandoned the vehicle and fled away from the spot. “During checking of the vehicle, 5 cattle were found laden inside the vehicle without any permission, “he said, adding, all the cattle were rescued and shifted to safer place.
The official said that the vehicle used for transporting the bovines was seized on spot and a case FIR number 18/2020 under Section 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act registered in this connection at police station Ghagwal for further investigation.
The whole operation was conducted by a police team led by SHO, police station Ghagwal, Sudhir Kumar under the supervision of Additional SP Samba, Faisal Qureshi.
