2 drug peddlers nabbed

KISHTWAR/ UDHAMPUR, Feb 22: The police arrested two drug-peddlers in Kishtwar and Udhampur area and recovered 300 gms of charas and 10 gms of heroin from them.
A police spokesman said that in continuation to its drive against the drugs, Kishtwar Police nabbed a drug -peddler and recovered charas from his possession.
Acting on a specific information, police team led by Inspector Ajaz Wani, SHO Police Station Kishtwar and Dy SP Hqrs, Kishtwar laid a special naka at Kuleed Chowk, Kishtwar. During checking of the vehicles and pedestrians police detained a person Sabder Hussain, son of Gh Mohiuddin resident of Pakalan, Thakrai. The police team recovered 300 grams of charas from his possession.
Police has registered case FIR No. 25/2020 under section 8/20 NDPS Act in Police Station Kishtwar. Police is investigating the case and more recoveries are likely in near future.
Meanwhile, Udhampur police recovered nearly 10 gms of heroin (Chitta) during Naka on Circular Road, here.
Official sources said that a police party led by SHO Vijay Singh, under the supervision of SSP Udhampur Rajiv Pandey, Additional SP Rajinder Katoch and DySP Rohit Chadgal laid a naka on Circular Road Udhampur for checking of vehicles. During naka police party caught one suspect who tried to hide himself from the police party. The suspected person was taken into custody and during his personal search, nearly 10 grms of heroin like substance was recovered from him. He has been identified as Romesh Singh, son of Kaka Ram from Ladda village at present, Housing Colony, Udhampur. He was arrested on the spot and recovered heroin was also seized.
A Case FIR No. 92/2020 u/s 8/21/22 NDPS Act stands registered against him at Udhampur Police Station.
