NOWSHERA, Mar 29: A free Eye Operation cum Treatment Camp organized by Viklang Chhatra Trust (Akhnoor) in collaboration with Health Department, at Sub District Hospital (SDH) Nowshera concluded here today.
About 400 eye sufferers were treated during the camp out of which 55 cataract patients were registered for the surgery. On March 25 and 26, 50 cataract patients were operated upon with intraocular lens surgery but 5 patients could not be operated upon due to medical reasons.
Dr Rajeev Sharma, MS, Dr Arti Sharma, MS renowned surgeons of Health Department assisted by Ajay Anand and Ram Krishna, both ophthalmic assistants rendered their services for the camp.
On the concluding day, today, free eye drops for 40 days and other allied medicines, spectacles were provided to all the operated patients.
Next cataract surgery camp for the eye sufferers will be held at SDH Kalakote in district Rajouri on April 3, 2013.
