JAMMU, Feb 27: Claiming that spiraling of Delhi riots videos on social media is a dangerous trend which can have deleterious effect on the peaceful atmosphere of Jammu region, Vikramaditya Singh (Ex-MLC) today asked the UT Administration for taking immediate steps to restrain the trouble mongers from inciting communal passions through such machinations.
In a statement issued here, Vikramaditya said, “It is appalling to see that in the aftermath of communal disturbances in parts of North East Delhi, videos of the same are being circulated in Jammu region with malafide intention. There is urgent need to stop this attempt to disturb the tranquility in the region”.
The hate mongers are desperately attempting to vitiate the atmosphere by spreading canards and provoking people by whipping up communal passions, he said while cautioning the people about the forces inimical to peace.
“As a society it is the responsibility of every J&K citizen to maintain peace and communal harmony. I appeal to all citizens to discourage miscreants and mischief mongers who are trying to create such disturbances in our region. Let us show that people of Jammu region will not stand for communal hatred. We want peace, progress and prosperity, not violence”, he maintained.
He also advised communal forces to shun disruptive tendencies and help people to lead a dignified life based on love, amity and brotherhood, which is the true spirit of Jammu and Kashmir’s pluralistic ethos.
