He said on the one hand Government talks of welfare of farmers and on the other Rs 30,000 to 40,000 are charged from them for using pump sets for two months.
Independent MLA and former Minister Hakeem Mohammed Yasin also stood up from his seat to turn the attention of Speaker towards the holy Hazratbal Shrine. He said the shrine had developed some cracks in the tomb and the same was renovated last year.
He said the tomb of the shrine had about 60 to 70 kgs of copper which was stolen by the employees working there during the renovation of the shrine.
He demanded a thorough probe into the matter saying the holy shrine is revered by people especially of Muslims community and steeling has hurt their religious sentiments.
