DIG, DC resolve dispute between 2 communities

POONCH, Mar 2: Tension in Poonch was eased and a major issue resolved today by intervention of District Administration and meeting of leaders of two communities.
Tension erupted on Saturday evening among two communities when one constructed a toilet/septic tank just outside the gate of Gurdwara Kharrhi Dharamsal. Construction was also stayed by the court. On Saturday evening the party started slab work. On getting information S.Harcharan Singh Khalsa, president AISSF reached the site and raised objection in ongoing work . The other party with some miscreants started stone pelting on rival party members causing injuries to Khalsa. This news spread like fire in area and a large number of people blic rushed to spot. This resulted into communal tension in the area.
Sensing trouble District Administration including DC Poonch Rahul Yadav, SSP Ramesh Angral, DySP HQ Mudasar Hussain, SHO Poonch along with heavy police force reached the spot and controlled the situation and tried to pacify the members by convening meetings with protesters throughout night who were demanding demolishing of illegal construction and registration of FIR against attackers on Gurdwara. Later, an FIR was registered against miscreants, which defused the situation upto some extent.
DIG Rajouri- Poonch Range Vivek Gupta on Sunday rushed to Poonch sensing the gravity of tension and succeeded in controlling the situation by his efforts with other officers. S.Harcharan Singh Khalsa when contacted appreciated the role of District Administration for timely action in controlling situation.
