Safai Karamcharis’ strike enters 4th day

UDHAMPUR, Mar 2: As the ongoing strike by Safai Karamcharis entered into fourth consecutive day on Monday, Udhampur is slowing turning into a town full of filth and garbage.
As foul smell is emanating from the heaps of garbage, people visiting the market are forced to cover their mouth.
A shopkeeper in the Gole Market said that the heaps of filth have been dumped in front of their shops for the last four days, but neither Municipal Council nor District Administration Udhampur has taken cognizance of the matter.
Protesting under the banner of Akhil Bhartiya Safai Mazdoor Sangh Udhampur, the Safai Karamcharis assembled in front of the office of Municipal Committee Udhampur and held a demonstration in favor of their long pending demands.
Girdhari Lal, District President Akhil Bhartiya Safai Mazdoor Sangh Udhampur said that a meeting with the Director Urban Local Bodies Jammu was held today but the same remained inconclusive.
