5 arrested for land grabbing

SAMBA, Mar 2: Five persons including three males and two females were arrested by Vijaypur police who tried to grab the land in village Rajinderpora late last night falling under jurisdiction of Vijaypur Police Station.
Police said some land grabbers made a bid to encroach the land in the village late last night by trespassing into the land of Mohammed Iqbal, Manzoor Huissian of the village and started erecting a tin shed there. When Mohammed Iqbal came to know of it he along with his family members went on the spot to object the same.
However, the land grabbers in a bid to threaten and intimidate him fired 25 rounds in the air. Hearing the gun firing the locals also came out of their houses in panic and reached the spot. The land owner also informed the matter to police. The police rushed to the spot and nabbed the land grabbers along with their vehicle bearing Registration Number JK08H/5694.
The alleged land grabbers have been identified as Mohammed Masood, Mohammed Parvez, sons of Abdul Rashid , Riyaz Begum, wife of Mohammed Rafiq, Naseem Akhtar wife of Farooq Ahmed and Mohinder Kumar son of Ram Chand of Mahanpur tehsil Billawar.
The Vijaypur Police has registered a Case Under Section 307,147,148 IPC,3/25 Arm Act against them. The police ahs also started the investigation in the matter.
