UDHAMPUR, Mar 2: Police seized 51 kg of contraband substance poppy straw from a truck, which was intercepted at Jakhani, NHW area of Udhampur.
According to SSP Udhampur, Rajiv Pandey, a Police party led by SHO Udhampur, Insp Vijay Singh Choudhary, under the supervision of Rajinder Singh Katoch, Addl SP Udhampur and Dr Rohit Chadgal, Dy SP Hqrs Udhampur, laid a naka at Jakhani, NHW and intercepted one truck bearing registration number PB 23E- 7517.
During checking, 51 kg of poppy straw was recovered from the vehicle. The accused driver namely Hari Charan Singh son of Narinder Singh of Ajnala, Punjab was arrested on the spot.
In this connection, a case FIR number 111/20, under section 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered at PS Udhampur and further investigtion is going on.
