SRINAGAR, Mar 30: Kashmir University (KU) is all set to start new academic session in the first week of April as per schedule, as it has completed the conduct of entrance examination of its 42 courses in the first phase within 10 days and declared all results within 2 days, a release issued by the KU said.
“This Year University received more than 36000 entrance applications for admission to several of its post graduate courses against a vacancy of 3000 seats. The university made use of latest technology from receiving of the applications to evaluation and finally the declaration of the results. The candidates were provided copies of the answer sheets while answer keys were also uploaded on the KU website the same day of examination in the evening”, the release added.
The candidates were advised to give the feedback within 24 hours which was addressed after seeking the advice of the Heads of the departments and the experts.
Prof Talat Ahmad, Vice chancellor and Dean academic affairs, Prof A M Shah, visited different examination centers each day of the examination to ensure the smooth and fair conduct of the examinations.
Vice chancellor during these visits interacted with scores of aspirants at various centres and expressed satisfaction with the facilities and arrangements made by the University for the fair conduct of examinations.
Dean Academic Affairs, Prof AM Shah, under whose supervision the whole exercise of entrance examination was carried out, was delighted that the system put in place worked well and the process was concluded successfully.
