JAMMU, Mar 30: Vigilance Organization Jammu today registered FIR against Nasir Iqbal Parray, the then Additional Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Gandarb Singh, the then Tehsildar Udhampur, Gopal Singh, the then Naib-Tehsildar Tikri, Ravinder Singh, the then Girdawar Tikri and Mohd Saleem Banday, the then Patwari Mand for dishonestly facilitating the release of compensation amount to the tune of Rs 16, 31, 884.
According to the FIR, verification conducted into the matter of fabrication of revenue records and the release of compensation to the tune of Rs 16, 31, 884 disproportionately amongst the beneficiaries in the village Mand has revealed that the revenue officers/officials in league with the private beneficiaries wrongfully and dishonestly facilitated the release of compensation in process of acquisition of land for National Highway in Khasra Nos. 907,908, 938 & 944 of village Mand.
It has been further revealed that in two Khasras the shareholders— Sansar Singh, Fateh Singh and Prital Singh were rightly allotted their due shares but the whole compensation amount has been paid in the favour of Pritam Singh only. In this way, the accused public servants Nasir Iqbal Parray, Gandarb Singh, Gopal Singh, Ravinder Singh and Mohd Saleem Banday have given undue pecuniary benefit to private persons.
They have been booked under Section 5(2) of Prevention of Corruption Act, 2006 and Sections 467/468/471 and 120-B RPC.
