Talking to reporters here, today YAIKS president R K Bhat strongly condemned the behavior of ZEO who has placed 26 package employees mostly females under suspension despite the fact that such officer is himself surrounded by many controversies and district administration Anantnag had ordered an inquiry against him. “It is surprising that when an officer is himself under the clout and facing an inquiry how he has been given the charge of another zone”, he added.
Bhat said while the behaviour of common masses of Kashmir has been very cordial and friendly with package employees but unfortunately some officers on the behest of separatists are harassing them ignoring that they have volunteered themselves to serve in the Valley after resigning from good positions in private sector with the sole motive to restore the composite culture of Valley.
He said even after the abrogation of Article 370 and 35A in the Union Territory of JK, the package employees are still becoming the victims of such officers. He said under a big conspiracy the Government’s return move is being sabotaged by some officers in Kashmir in league with separatists.
He said due to the non seriousness and biased approach of the Government the package employees are still facing the accommodation problem and san basic amenities. One hand Government is claiming the honorable return of Pandits and other hand the people who volunteered themselves are being harassed and are deprived by the basic facilities with the result employees are always dependent on their families living in Jammu and other parts of country, he added.
The employees were demanding independent accommodation in stipulated time frame on the pattern of Shakhpura Colony, he said. The community smells a rat in recent suspension of more than 26 package teacher employees from Qazigund Zone by ZEO, who has been given additional charge of the zone. Suspending of employees by Z E O on a very first day of his joining even without sending them notice and calling them absconders in his order is highly objectionable and violation of service rules, he added.
In this regard YAIKS seeks intervention of Advisor to Governor, K K Sharma to mitigate long pending demand of accommodation and immediate action against the officer besides revocation of suspension order.
YAIKS core group members Ajay Safaya, Sanjay Ganjoo (Secretaries) Ashwani Kak, Neeraj Koul, Kamal Tak, Ajay Pandita and Dileep Bhat were also present in press conference.
