JAMMU, Mar 10: Fresh landslide in Ramsu area of Ramban district once again blocked Jammu-Srinagar highway for several hours this afternoon following which hundreds of vehicles were stranded on both sides of the road.
The landslide took place at Hingni Gangroo in Ramsu area, this afternoon causing the blockade. Even as one way traffic was partially restored in the evening after some restoration work, no fresh vehicles are being allowed to move on the highway.
IG Traffic T Namgyal told the Excelsior that the highway was partially restored for one way traffic and only stranded vehicles were being allowed to move towards Jammu. Around 2000 vehicles were stranded on the highway due to the blockade following fresh landslide at Hingni, he added.
The restoration work will be resumed tomorrow morning and fresh vehicles will be allowed to move only after the stranded vehicles on both sides are cleared. The stranded vehicles include trucks, passenger and private vehicles.
