Road Safety Audit of NH demanded

BANIHAL, Mar 10: Expressing serious concern over frequent loss of lives on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH), National Conference (NC) district president, Ramban, Haji Sajjad Shaheen said that miserable condition of the NH has turned the 300 km long Jammu-Srinagar road into a virtual death trap.
He said that frequent traffic jams and road closure has badly affected the travellers due to landslides on the all-weather road.
The NC leader further said that the mismanagement and lack of coordination among Traffic Police posted along the NH is one of the factors responsible for the mess on NH.
Shaheen also said that the faulty execution of highway widening between Banihal and Ramban is the main reason for the frequent highway blockade and demanded road safety audit of Ramban-Banihal stretch of the National Highway.
