BJP Kashmir delegation calls on Relief Commissioner

JAMMU, Mar 10: A delegation of BJP Kashmir Displaced District led by its president, T N Bhat called on Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner, Migrants, T K Bhat in his office chamber here ,today and highlighted various demands of displaced people before him.
The issues highlighted included enhancement of cash relief from Rs 13,000 to Rs 25,000 per family per month, registration of left out and deserving migrants, provision of issuance of domicile certificate, allotment of four years back shops constructed at Jagti for needy and deserving entrepreneurs, streamlining of Engineering Wing of Relief Organisation, facilitation of implementation of Immovable Migrant Property Act of 1996-97, redressal of problems of PM package employees working in Valley on account of accommodation, employment of educated youth on the pattern of Punjab State where one job for one family was provided , regularization and upkeep of over 100 families living in ORT at Purkhoo with usual provisions of electricity and drinking water.
It also demanded better sanitation in Jagti and other camps, release of pending 50 percent ex-gratia, of gutted houses, proper provision for supply of pure drinking water at Jagti and other colonies, deletion of tedious M Forms from current voting system of migrants and one time compensation for over aged youth, traders and agriculturists.
The other members of the delegation included Shuban K Pandita, vice president KDD, Vinod Kumar Pandita its general secretary, Vishal Jyotshi, secretary, Rakesh Fotedar , media secretary and Kamal Warikoo district Executive member.
It also submitted a memorandum to Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner highlighting the demands. The RRC assured the delegation that he will take up all the issues with concerned departments.
