JAMMU, Mar 13: The 16th meeting of the Executive Council of the Central University of Jammu (CUJ) was held at University campus Rahya Suchani with Vice-Chancellor, Prof Ashok Aima in chair.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Ashok Aima informed the meeting about the holding of 2nd Convocation in first quarter of the year 2020. First Convocation of the university was held on March 18, 2018 and the Vice-Chancellor assured the members that Convocation will be held every year or once in two years depending upon the number of graduating students/scholars.
The Vice-Chancellor also presented details of various research projects obtained by the faculty of the university. He apprised the members that more than 46 research projects have been funded from different external organizations amounting to nearly Rs 20 crores besides funding from DRDO and ISRO as well, which would be more than Rs 80 crores.
Prof Udai Pratap Singh, Professor and Head Department of Anthropology, Lucknow University; Prof Sushil Kumar Gupta, Professor, Division of Agro-Forestry, Faculty of Agriculture, SKUAST-Jammu; Prof Talat Ahmad, Vice Chancellor, University of Kashmir and Prof Mehraj-ud din-Mir, Vice-Chancellor, Central University of Kashmir were special invitee. All Deans of CUJ were also present in the meeting. Registrar, Dr Ravi Kumar, who is also Member Secretary, presented the Executive Council agenda.
