JAMMU, Mar 15: Directorate of Tourism Jammu in collaboration with TAAJ and other tour and travel operator of Jammu organized a Road Show at Varanasi at Assi Ghat of river Ganges where special Ganga Aarti was sponsored amidst performance of folk songs promoting tourism in Jammu by “Viraha Group” of artists.
Various gifts like caps, t-shirts and mugs were presented to tourists present there inviting them to visit Jammu in current season. Various tourist destination and importance in Jammu were also highlighted during the show.
Several events were organized at different locations at Varanasi by installing tourism umbrella stalls. Public was enthusiast and responded positively to the information being discriminated through stalls.
Later, a press conference was also organized inviting media houses of Varanasi at Hotel Taj Ganges where in tourist destination of Jammu more particularly Shri Vaishno Devi Shrine and Shri Shiv Khori Shrine in Reasi, Shadara Sharief Shrine in Rajouri, Bawe Wali Mata, Jasrota Mata and other places of religious importance in and around Jammu was highlighted. Besides that other destinations like river rafting, paragliding, water sports, Kishtwar High Altitude National Park, tracking to several lakes and other tracking circuits in different districts were also highlighted. Border tourism, wetlands and Golf Tourism were also discussed. Tourists destinations like Padri, Chinta Valley, Jai Valley, Seoj Meadows and MTV bike competition on July 2nd week were also projected.
Similarly, a Special Tourist Enclave was conducted at Hotel Taj Ganges by Directorate of Jammu in collaboration with Travel Agents Association of Jammu where Minister of Tourism and Culture Dr Neelkhath Tiwari was chief guest, Sid Amit Gupta, Assistant Director India Tourism Varanasi, Commissioner of Varanasi and Chief Executive Officer, Rajouri Development Authority Vivek Pun were guests of honors. Jitendar Koul, President TAAJ and Ramnider Sanhotra, President JKTWO were also porsent.
The road show was assisted by Amit Kumar Gupta, Assistant Director and VTG Varanasi.
