JAMMU, Mar 16: BJP Kissan Morcha president, Omi Khajuria has demanded immediate release of compensation to farmers whose land has come under Akhnoor road as well as Jammu Ring Road.
Khajuria, while addressing the meeting of farmers from Jammu district today also demanded that the farmers be paid compensation as per the prevailing market rate. He expressed grave concern over the losses suffered by the farmers due to heavy rains in last October, November and recent hailstorm which destroyed their both Kharif and Rabi crops completely. He demanded that Government should assess the losses suffered by recent hailstorm in Jammu region and pay compensation to farmers accordingly.
He also demanded that fertilizers, seeds and pesticides be either given to farmers on free of cost or on easy installments as the farmers of this region have suffered a heavy loss during both Kharif an Rabi seasons.
