SAMBA, Mar 16: Acting firmly against the sale of illicit liquor, district police Samba has arrested a shop owner of tea stall along with two other persons in the jurisdiction of Police Station Samba for bootlegging liquor.
Acting on specific information about selling and facilitating liquor consumption illegally at his shop by the owner to his customers, a police party of P/S Samba conducted raid and apprehended the shop owner namely Gourav Misra, S/o Surinder Kumar Misra of W.No. 07, Chohata, Samba. The two more persons who were drinking liquor at the shop during raid were also arrested and they were identified as Umesh Dass, S/o Shivji Dass of Rohini, New Delhi & Mohan Lal S/o Mahavir Parsad of Khudana, Haryana both A/P SIDCO Samba.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 65/2020 U/S 50/50 (A) Excise Act registered at P/S Samba. The Samba police under the stewardship of SSP Samba Shakti Pathak and additional SP, Faisal Qureshi have launched a sustained campaign against liquor and drug mafia in the district.
