JAMMU, Mar 16: BJP Scheduled Tribe Morcha Jammu and Kashmir president, Choudhary Haroon along with senior leaders of Morcha from Gujjar Bakerwal community discussed various issues being faced by STs of the State during a meeting with BJP Spokesperson and ex Vice chairman, SC, ST, BC Development Corporation Balbir Ram Rattan at party headquarters Trikuta Nagar today.
The members of the Morcha, while recalling the steps taken by Balbir Ram as VC of Corporation for the downtrodden communities of erstwhile State said it was for the first time that some leader took keen interest for the welfare of these communities irrespective of caste, creed, region and religion.
The members, while discussing various issues with BJP leader expressed the hope as spokesperson of the party he will continue to highlight them at every fora. They said STs in J&K are still facing many hardships and demanded that they be given political reservations both in Assembly and Parliament as they are still backward in various fields of life.
