Sikh bodies demand Advisor from community

JAMMU, Mar 16: Various Sikh organizations have demanded induction of a Sikh member as Advisor to the Lt Governor G C Murmu in the J&K Union Territory.
In a meeting of various Sikh bodies held under the chairmanship of Mohinder Singh, president Bhai Kanhiya Nishkam Seva Society (BKNSS) here today, various members from other bodies reiterated their demand of appointing an Advisor to the Lt Governor from the Sikh community so that issues of this minority community are properly projected.
These members from SAD, SUF, SSF, SNS and SWS unanimously resolved to wage a struggle till a member from their community is appointed as Advisor in J&K UT. The members also alleged that formation of Apni Party led by former PDP minister Altaf Bukhari was just ‘B team’ of BJP and people will totally reject this party in next elections.
While lauding the decision of the Home Ministry to release top NC leader Farooq Abdullah, the Sikh bodies demanded release of all the political leaders and revival of political activity in the J&K.
