UDHAMPUR, Mar 18: Locals of village Badhota today held a protest in front of incomplete building of Primary Health Center (PHC) Badhota and raised slogans against Executive Engineer PWD holding the department responsible for not completing the much needed building work of PHC Badhota.
The protesting villagers informed that the building work of PHC Badhota was take up long time ago but the same was still incomplete thus depriving people from the required health facilities.
“In absence of PHC in Badhota, patients are left with no option other than to cover a long distance for reaching District Hospital Udhampur for their treatment while in case of emergency, there was always risk to life of the patients because of no PHC in the area,” they said.
To enquire about the progress of PHC Badhota and reasons for the delay in completion work, a social activist of Panchayat Badhota had also submitted an RTI application to PWD Udhampur seeking details like date of commencement of construction work, works pending till date, total amount sanctioned, total amount handover to the contractor and the bills passed till date related to PWD Badhota building, but there was no official reply in this regard.
