Sixth consecutive year for IndianOil refineries to surpass targets

NEW DELHI, Apr 1:  IndianOil refineries have achieved the crude throughput of 54.6 MMT surpassing the MOU target of 54.25 MMT.  Overall capacity utilization of 100.7% was achieved by IndianOil Refineries during 2012-13.  For the sixth year in a row capacity utilization of more than 100% was achieved despite planned M&I shut downs.
This was disclosed by Raj Kumar Ghosh, Director (Refineries), IndianOil while addressing the employees of Refineries across the country.
Highest-ever combined distillate yield of IndianOil Refineries was recorded at 78.1Wt%, surpassing the previous best of 77.8 wt% last year.  Gujarat and Panipat Refineries recorded the highest ever distillate yield of 78.2 & 82.4 wt% respectively, surpassing the previous best of 78.0 and 82.3 wt% in 2011-12.
Implementation of various energy saving schemes and close monitoring of energy parameters helped IOC refineries record lowest ever specific energy consumption of 56.5 against earlier lowest of 57 in 2011-12, said Mr.Ghosh.
IOC Refineries achieved record overall production of LPG (2121 TMT), MS (5803 TMT) and HSD (24465 TMT) in 2012-13.  In addition to this 1292 TMT of BS-IV MS and 3860 TMT of BS-IV HSD was also produced.
While taking about the challenges ahead, Mr.Ghosh emphasized the need for all out efforts to commission the most prestigious Paradip Refinery Project and ensuring maximum plant availability in the interest of organizational productivity.
