5 arrested for spreading rumour, service station sealed

JAMMU, Mar 21: Five persons were arrested for spreading rumour about detection of more cases of COVID-19 in Jammu while a service station has been sealed for violating DM Jammu order regarding COVID-19.
As per police sources, five persons have been arrested for spreading rumours about detection of more cases of COVID- 19 in Jammu there by creating panic in the general public.
The arrested persons were identified as Amit Sharma, son of Prem Sharma of Roop Nagar, Raman Gupta, son of Nagar Mal Gupta of Gandhi Nagar, Vikas Arora, son of Tilak Raj of Shastri Nagar, Rajinder Sharma, son of Chaman Lal of Trikuta Nagar and Vikas Sharma, son of Sushil Sharma of Gandhi Nagar.
A case under FIR Number 78/2020 under section 505 (1) IPC and Section 3 of Epidemic Act r/w 188 IPC has been registered against the arrested persons and further investigation is going on.
Meanwhile, a team led by Tehsildar Jammu South Manjeet Singh and assisted by cops from Satwari Police Station sealed a service station owned by Ranveer Singh, son of Tarlochan Singh at Digiana for violating DM Jammu order regarding COVID-19.
A case under FIR Number 63/2020 under section 188 IPC has been registered at Satwari Police Station and investigation started.
