DODA, Mar 23: The people are irked over the dilapidated condition of the Chiralla-Sanarthawa road.
They also flayed the concerned authorities for their failure to construct the road.
The road connects more than 25,000 people of Tehsil Chiralla with rest of District Doda and is continuously in dilapidated condition particularly after recent rains and snowfall.
The first phase of the work on the road has been completed and the concerned authorities are delaying the second stage.
While speaking, the residents said that the road is in deplorable condition and needs immediate attention of the concerned authorities. They appealed to the concerned authorities to construct the road as soon as possible.
“We face many problems to commute on this road and it should be constructed for the benefit of the thousands of people residing in tehsil Chiralla”, they added.
The residents also appealed to the MP Doda-Udhampur Lok Sabha constituency Dr Jitendra Singh to intervene into the issue and direct the concerned authorities to construct the road as soon as possible.
The residents threatened to gherao the office of PMGSY Thathri if they failed to construct the road by using standard material.
When contacted, Executive Engineer PMGSY Division Thathri Parvez Ahmed said due to recent heavy rains and snowfall the condition of the road dilapidated. The work on the road will start very soon so as to provide succor to the people communicating on this road, he added.
