JAMMU, Mar 27: Lalit Mahajan, Co-Chairman of Federation of Industries Jammu (FoIJ), has urged upon the State Administration to defer the power bills of the industrial sector for three months in view of lockdown and situation emerged due to Covid-19.
In a letter flashed to the Lt Governor G C Murmu, Mahajan invited his attention towards the hardship faced by the industrial sector of the country due to closer of their units resulting huge financial losses and keeping in mind the above, Reserve Bank of India provided relief to the industrial sector by waiving off the interest for next three months, deferment of term loan installment and other relief.
He pointed out that due to complete shut down imposed in J&K, it is not possible for the unit holders to pay the Power bills. Therefore, it is requested that the Power bills of the industrial sector be deferred for next three month with the waiving off the minimum demand charges as announced by some other States also.
FoIJ Co-chairman also coveyed heartiest thanks to the J&K Administration for taking the corrective steps to prevent the spread of Coronavirus by imposing the complete lockdown in the J&K as well as in the Industrial sector except, the production of essential commodities as defined by the Govt.
