Bovines smuggling bids foiled; 99 cattle rescued, 4 arrested

JAMMU, Mar 27: Nagrota and Jhajjar Kotli police foiled bovine smuggling bids by rescuing 99 cattle and arresting four smugglers.
As per police sources, teams from Nagrota Police Station led by SHO Inspector Mohammad Shoket and from Jhajjar Kotli Police Station led by SHO Inspector Rajesh Khajuria intercepted seven trucks.
During checking, police team rescued 99 cattle from the vehicles and arrested four smugglers, who were identified as Mohammad Mudassar, son of Mohammad Zubair of District Rajouri, Naseem Ali, son of Hameed of Muradabad Uttar Pradesh, Mushtaq Mohammad, son of Noor Ilahi of Belichalana District Jammu and Mohammad Mushtaq, son of Mirza of Dhoni.
Seven cases under relevant sections have been registered at Jhajjar Kotli and Nagrota Police Stations and investigation started.
The whole operation was carried out under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Mohan Sharma and SP Rural Suram Singh.
