JAMMU, Apr 2: Amid outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic, the distribution of ration and other essential items continue in full swing.
Chamber of Traders Federation in tandem with Dabur India Limited and Attar Logistics donated Real Brand of Juices to SSP Jammu Sridhar Patil, for distribution amongst police jawans serving the Nation in this hour of need. Neeraj Anand was also present on the occasion. Earlier CTF team also donated juices to Sewa Bharti, one of the leading social organization, whose volunteers are working across the UT and helping poor people get food and good nutrition. Attar Singh from Attar Logistics and Parag Abrol, Treasurer CTF were also present on the occasion.
Amit Sharma, Administrator, Government Medical College and Associated Hospitals Jammu, apart from attending to strenuous ongoing Novel Corona Virus related official duties, today took a special lead in organising a dry ration distribution camp for rag pickers, beggars and some destitute families in the outskirts of Jammu city in this Total Lockdown situation, through an active participation of Hardware Paint and Sanitary Dealers Association (HPSDA) led by Neeraj Gupta President, Naresh Chopra Senior Vice President, Varun Sharma Vice President, Subash Nanda General Secretary, Vishal Bhat Treasurer and Sanjay Pandita Publicity Incharge for this noble cause. This drive was conducted in two phases, first leg of whom was organised on Akhnoor Road and second leg near Jammu Tawi Railway Station in Maratha Basti of Rag Pickers and Beggars.
HelpAge India Jammu Team distributed dry ration among 30 needy families in Rajpura area of Jammu City. Team lead by Sunita Santoshi, State Manager of Helpage India conducted the distribution.
Border Welfare Organization Chairman Avinash Choudhary and his team distributed ration to the poor people of Chak Baglan and Chak Salarian. On the occasion, SDPO Vijaypur Love Karan and Tehsildar Ramgarh Kamalpreet Singh were also present.
Sub Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Manjakote Nisar Khoja alongwith Tehsildar Manjakote Mohammad Sageer and SHO Manjakote Inspector Manzoor Kohli distributed the face masks in different areas. Dry ration was also distributed among poor families and workers as well as migrants in Darhal, Nowahera, Kalakote and other areas of the district by District Police Rajouri.
Station House Officer (SHO) Bishnah Inspector Deepak Pathania under the supervision of Shabir Khan, SDPO, RS Pura along with Chairman Sushil Singh Charak and Nations Development Association NDA volunteers distributed food items and eatable to the families of destitutes in the jurisdiction of Police Station Bishnah.
53rd Battalion CRPF Unit distributed necessary food items, dry rations, milk and biscuits for the little ones among families residing in Baramulla Main Chowk near Raghunath Mandir.
Panther Youth leader Sumeet Singh distributed lunch box among needy people in collaboration with the youth of the border villages of Samba at village Rakh Amb Talli.
Corporator of Ward Number 36 JMC Subsah Sharma distributed ration and essential commodities to the over 150 poor and needy families of his ward. Corporator also initiated sanitization drive in his ward.
Former Minister Priya Sethi served free food to needy at CPO Chowk Panjtirthi along with Corporator Anil Masoom, Sunita Didwal, Sunita Sharma and Deepak.
‘The-SARA’ a registered non-profit organization led by its Director Dr Raminder Jit Singh distributed essential food items among 50 families of Kusht Ashram Leprosy Colony Bhagwati Nagar Jammu.
As a part of humanitarian approach “We Care For You”, ration items were distributed among labourers in different parts of the Mendhar under the supervision of Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Mendhar Dr Sahil Jandyal. The team members comprising of Tehsildar Mendhar Dr Vikram Raina, Naib Tehsildar Ashfaq Ahmed Fani, TSO Kulbushan Sharma and other officials of Revenue Department identified the hardships and problems being faced by the labour class.
The people of Barjani Talab distributed ration kits among more than 90 migrant families hailing from different States. Chairman of Municipal Committee Bari Brahmana Puran Chand, Rameshwar Kumar and SHO Bari brahmana Inspector Rajesh Jasrotia were among others present on the occasion.
Vinod Malhota, Secretary, Indian Red Cross Society along with his staff distributed ration and other food items among poor and needy families of Shakti Nagar and its adjoining areas. Chander Moham Sharma, Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation was also present on the occasion. Indian Red Cross Society also distributed/provided ration to other 200 poor labour families of Orissa putting up at different locations in Jammu city which includes Dogra Mohalla, Kachi Chawni, Khilone Wali Gali, Panjtirthi, etc.
CRPF G Coy 33 Battalion stationed at Bhaderwah distributed free ration kits and masks to the people at Sarna Domail and College Link Road of Bhaderwah on the directions of CO 33 Battalion A Padma Kumar.
Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) continued distribution of dry ration kits to the needy and down trodden persons living in the slum areas in the areas viz Vivek Vihar, Basant Nagar in Paloura area and 3 slums near Jammu Darbar Bye Pass Road within the limits of JMC. The distribution of ration has been monitored by Commissioner, JMC Avny Lavasa alongwith Secretary JMC.
Habib Trust offered their voluntary contribution by donating 50 kits comprised of daily essential commodities for destitute families of rural areas of the district Doda. Deputy Commissioner (DC) Doda Dr Sagar D Doifode distributed these kits among needy families of rural areas. He also distributed face masks among these families to mitigate the risk of infection of outbreak.
Panchayat Halqa Chadwal continued langar sewa for the poor people living in Chadwal and its surrounding areas. Som Dutt Rasoia, Parshotam Sharma, social activist Ajay Sharma, Bittu, Sarpanch Seemant Sharma and many others were present on the occasion.
Rakesh Singh along with SDPO Domana Kosheen Koul, SHO Kanachack Inspector Ravi Singh Parihar distributed relief materials among the needy people at Purkhoo.
Packed food items were distributed in Udhampur opposite JK City Scan Dhar Road to needy people by a group of persons comprising of Vidhu Sharma, Manav Sharma, Rajinder Sharma, Surinder Sharma, Pranav Agnihotri, Kewal Sharma, Gian Chand Mansotra, Ricky Mansotra, Nitin Khajuria and Ankush Magotra.
Lal Dwara Mandir Trust distributed ration and essential items in slum area. SSP Jammu Sridhar Patil and many others were present on the occasion.
For the 4th consecutive day, Jan Seva Langer served cooked food among migrant and needy labourers at Panchayat Halqa Mandal. Balkrishan Sharma of Bhure Chack donated today’s langer expenses.
Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Youth Congress team led by its General Secretary Nimrandeep Singh distributed essential items among the poor and needy persons. Divyansh Secretary JKPYC was also present on the occasion.
Packed dinner was served to nearly 100 needy people in village palouta by a team from Police Station Ramgarh.
