JAMMU, Apr 2: Doctors’ Association Jammu (DAJ) has appealed LG GC Murmu and Financial Commissioner (FC), Health & Medical Education, J&K, Atal Dulloo, to initiate enquiry as to why the Personal Protection Equipments (PPEs), N-95 masks and hand sanitizers are not reaching to doctors.
In a statement issued here today, Dr Balwinder Singh, president, DAJ, said that it is a matter of grave concern that frontline health workers including doctors who are fighting against Novel Coronavirus are not being provided PPEs, N-95 masks and hand sanitizers despite the fact that the Government is providing the same in adequate quantity if not abundant.
Stating that Dr Sikander (Microbiologist, GMC Jammu) and his family were infected of COVID-19 only due to negligence of the administration which failed to provide them separate accommodation, the DAJ president appealed the LG and the FC to initiate enquiry into the matter. He also sought enquiry into as to why PPEs, N-95 masks and hand sanitizers are not reaching to doctors.
