Sunita Williams on Gujarat visit from today

AHMEDABAD, Apr 3: Indian American astronaut Sunita Williams, who holds the world record for longest space flights by a woman astronaut, is visiting Gujarat from tomorrow.
According to family sources here, Sunita will leave for her ancestral village, Jhulasan near Mehsana, after landing at Ahmedabad airport tomorrow afternoon. She will offer prayers at the Dola Mata temple in the village and meet the villagers.
Sunita’s father hails from Jhulasan village. This will be her second visit to the village, as she had also come in 2007, after her return from space.
Sunita is also scheduled to attend various functions and interact with students during her stay here. She will leave for the US on April 6.
Sunita holds the world record with 50 hours and 40 minutes for total cumulative spacewalk time by a female astronaut. She has spent a total of 322 days in space (on two missions) and now ranks sixth on the US endurance list and second for a woman astronaut.
