JAMMU, Apr 4: Crime Branch Jammu today produced preliminary charge-sheet against notorious fraudsters who allegedly duped unemployed youth by luring them on the pretext of providing Government jobs in MES Hqrs Srinagar.
The charge sheet was produced against fraudster – Pawan Kumar, resident of H No-730 lane No.03 Last Matadoor Stand Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu (A/P H No-328 Lane No 3 Lakshmi Nagar BohriTalabTillo Jammu) and SarupLal, resident of H No-75, Ward No. 04, Rajiv Colony Bari-Brahmana, District Samba in case FIR Number 11/2019, under Section 420, 465, 468, 471, 120B RPC P/S Crime Branch, Jammu.
The case owes its origin to a communication received from SSP Jammu on a written complaint lodged by Makhan Singh of village Batoli Patair, Billawer Kathua (A/P Dogra Hall Jammu), Ranjit Singh of Ramnagar, Udhampur , Sunil Singh of Ramnagar Udhampur and Pardeep Kumar of Udhampur against the accused persons for cheating them on the pretext of arranging job.
The accused were evading arrest since long by changing their locations frequently and were finally arrested recently. Both the accused persons are habitual offenders of committing such nature of crime. Saroop Lal is a notorious cheat having six other FIRs of similar nature registered against him in Police Station Crime Branch Jammu, while two FIRs of similar nature are registered against Pawan Kumar. Accused Saroop Lal is an ex-serviceman (Sipahi) possessing a top model XUV car worth Rs 20.0 lacs, branded dresses and a palatial house. For the last around 20 years, he has not withdrawn his pension even single time nor he has any other known source of income. He was allegedly minting money only by playing con-tricks with the innocent people.
During the course of investigation, authentication of appointment letters from the concerned MES Department was sought and it was found false and fabricated.
The charge sheet was produced in the court of law, which rejected the bail plea of both the accused who are lodged in District Jail Ambphala Jammu for the last two months. Further investigation of the case is going on as involvement of one more accused person has surfaced in the case, who is absconding.
