Transporters observe strike

SAMBA, Apr 3: The public transporters including buses and minibuses plying on Samba Mansar road observed a total strike in protest against the authorities for their failure in renovation of the road which is in dilapidated condition and has become a death trap for commuters.
The transporters held a massive demonstration at Ned also and accused the Government for deliberately ignoring the renovation of road. Shouting slogans they said that transporters are paying rest 3500 Road Tax per year but the road is not being maintained by the Government.
The passengers had to face a tough time as public transport was not available. The school going children and employees had to go by foot due to strike. The protestors warned that in case early renovation of the road did not take place they will be forced to cancel the services and the Government will be responsible for all consequences.
They termed the claims of the Government totally hollow on development and wanted a thorough probe that where the huge funds earmarked for development is spent.
