Reducing perks of legislators

Sir,
The decision of the Home Ministry to do away with the huge undue perks of the former CMs is a bold and public friendly step. One feels intrigued and even enraged to know how our legislators had been giving priority to enact and amend laws almost regularly for bestowing huge monetary grants on former serving and former CMs and legislators. These politicos were not ashamed of the fact that the erstwhile state almost wholly depended on the Centre and the funds should be used for the welfare of the masses rather than on the luxuries of the CMs and the legislators.
To undo the previously committed blatant wrongs, the Centre should revise and reduce the pension being given to the former legislators. It should be Rs.15000 for one term, 30000 for two terms and 45000 for three or more terms.Rs.75000 even for a legislator who served just for five years is quite disproportionate.
This pension is not earned even by a Class1 officer who serves the Govt for more than 30 years or so. Imagine a destitute widow getting a mere ? 1000 and that too irregularly.
Meanwhile the residents of the J&K UT should not express dismay on the new rules which throw open jobs and domicile to the residents of the rest of India. After all the residents of J&K too can apply for jobs anywhere in the country and can also buy land and settle in any corner of India. Why do we aspire for a double standard.
If integration was the rationale behind the abrogation of the special status, then nobody especially those who struggled for it should have reservations.
