JAMMU, Apr 7 : A paramilitary CRPF man was martyred in a militant attack in Bijbehara area of South Kashmiri’s Anantnag district today.

Militants fired upon CRPF party in Bijbehara area of Anantnag district of South Kashmir this afternoon. In this incident one CRPF man Shiv Lal Netam from Chhattisgarh was critically injured. The injured was rushed to SDH Bijbehara for treatment. However, doctors there referred him to GMC Anantnag for specialized treatment where he was declared as brought dead.
And in the meantime, Pakistan resorted to heavy shelling by mortars along the LoC in Uri sector of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district today.
“Today evening at around 7.05 pm, Pakistan initiated unprovoked ceasefire violation by firing from small arms and shelling mortars along the LoC in Hajipeer area of Uri,” an Army official said. Army retaliated resulting in exchange of fire.
