Army organizes medical camp

AKHNOOR, Apr 3: Army’s Crossed Swords Division organized a medical camp (‘Sainya Chikitsa Shivir’) at village Pallanwala as part of the medical outreach campaign of the Army to commemorate the 250th Anniversary of Army Medical Corps.
The event was inaugurated by Lt Gen KR Salgotra (Med) in the presence of the General Officer Commanding, Crossed Swords Division and a number of senior Army officers of the Corps.
During the camp, a team of Army doctors including specialists of various medical disciplines from Northern Command and the Crossed Swords Division, rendered medicare to the local populace. Medical aid in the form of free medicines, consultation, ante-natal facilities and counselling regarding HIV and family planning was also provided. Medical Aid and equipment like tricycles, wheel chairs, crutches, prosthetic boots etc were also presented to the needy patients.
