JAMMU, Apr 8: National Conference Provincial President Devender Singh Rana today called for an integrated, holistic and cohesive approach to push back the novel Coronavirus, saying the pandemic has transcended the national borders and ethnic boundaries and emerged as the biggest challenge for the humankind in twenty-first centuries.
This is the time to adhere the advisories by the Government and experts in the field of medical science to help curb further spread of the virus that has already taken a high toll globally, Rana said in a statement, adding that this is also the occasion for fellow beings to help each other by whatever way they can to show human solidarity.
He said that humanity is at cross roads of its existence due to the virus and therefore this dreaded enemy is to be defeated by standing united, above party politics and the prejudices. The agenda this time is to defeat the common enemy and not to get engaged in blame-games, which will yield nothing but derail the process of overcoming the challenge.
“We must put aside prejudices, differences, mistrust and all kinds of animosities to wage a full-fledged war against the epidemic with only agenda of defeating it as it concerns our lives, irrespective of religion, caste or nationality”, Rana said, adding that “the war can be won by not only staying in homes and maintaining social distance but also coming to the help of needy in our respective peripheries and backyards”.
“We have to maintain social distance but not shun the social responsibility”, the Provincial President said, adding that all the National Conference functionaries across the Jammu region have engaged themselves in helping out people by maintaining all necessary protocols of the lock down. He said the society has to ensure that nobody goes hungry.
“The service to humans is the noblest of prayers and let us perform out little bit in whatever way we can”, Rana said, adding that the times may be crucial but the resolve of the people too is well defined to overcome this phase by adhering to preventive protocols and helping each other. The need of the hour is to forge intense solidarity and to ensure cooperation to fight Coronavirus, he added.
