RAJOURI, Apr 3: Two children were seriously injured after a shell exploded in Doongi Grati area of Keri sector in district Rajouri this afternoon.
A police spokesman said that incident took place when these two children namely 9-year-old Mohd Salim, son of Mohd Aziz and 8-year-old Gulnaz Kouser, daughter of Abdul Hamid of Thathyari Morha were fiddling with a metallic object (shell) which they found in the nearby jungle. Unaware of the danger, the boy was fiddling with it while girl was standing nearby.
Suddenly the shell exploded with big bang, causing serious injuries to them. One arm of the boy was blown up. Both the children were rushed to district hospital Rajouri in Army vehicle. The police has taken cognizance of the matter.
