Sahu reviews Navratra arrangements

JAMMU, Apr 3: To discuss the arrangements for the forthcoming Navratras and Ramnavmi festival Deputy Commissioner Jammu Ajeet Kumar Sahu convened a meeting of officers, representatives of religious organization and prominent citizens here today .He also reviewed arrangements for the smooth conduct of Rath Yatra and Jhankis on the occasion of Ramnavmi
The meeting was attended by ADC Jammu Tilak Raj Shastri, RTO Jammu Arvind Kotwal, Deputy Director Information Jyoti Salathia, Joint Commissioner JMC Kapil Sharma, SE PWD P. L. Bhushan, XEn PHE Ashok Gandotra, XEn R&B Nasir Goni, XEn ED-I A. K. Chibber, XEn PWD Dinesh Rampal, Health Officer Dr. Vinod Sharma, other senior officers of district administration besides President ACTF Yash Paul Gupta, and representatives of various religious organizations.
Deputy Commissioner directed the officers of various departments to ensure that all necessary arrangements are put in place well in time, adding that there should be no shortage of essential commodities during the holy Navratras days. He directed Health Department to provide well equipped ambulances to accompany the Jhankis/procession which will pass through different parts of the city and also at prominent religious places .
PDD was directed to provide uninterrupted power supply during the festival days while JMC was directed to ensure cleanliness and sanitation in and around the Bahu Fort and other temples likely to be thronged by the devotees. Arrangements with regard to traffic, security, barricading at important places and along the procession route were also reviewed. Representatives of local religious organization also raised important issues for the smooth conduct of Navratra and Ramnavmi festival.
Mr. Sahu asked the Traffic Department to ensure smooth movement of traffic during the Navratras days on various important routes and directed the traffic authorities to identify proper places for parking vehicles. He also stressed to utilize the services of civil defence volunteers for managing devotees rush and traffic management.
