JAMMU, Apr 8: Amid outbreak of Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the distribution of ratio and essential items among the needy persons continued in various parts of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
Christian Fellowship Trust Jammu in collaboration with Catholic Social Service Society Jammu and Kashmir with the support of Caritas India–The Social Agency of Catholic Churches in India distributed ration items and masks to needy people of 125 families from all religions residing in Christian Colony and its adjoining areas. The food items were distributed to the needy people at St Peter’s Catholic Church Jammu under the supervision of Fr Kuriakose President Christian Fellowship Trust and Fr Shaiju Chacko Director Catholic Social Service Society J&K in the presence of Rajesh Gill Chief Prosecuting Officer, Rev Udhay Singh, Pastor Prince, Pastor Robin, Pastor Johnson and Lazar Kandyara.
Pradeep Singh, Commandant 168 Battalion BSF alongwith Deputy Commandant Dayal Singh and Bharat Raj distributed ration in village Mankote of District Poonch.
SP Rural Jammu Suram Singh along with Judge Naushad, Incharge Police Post Pounichak SI Varuneshwar Singh distributed dry ration along with masks among migrant workers at Gho Manhasan.
Senior Congress leader Varun Magotra distributed ration and essential items among the needy persons of Prem Nagar, Ward Number 7, Jammu. Former District President Congress Seva Dal Sardari Lal Mehra, Sham Lal Mehra, Babli Devi, Vinod Kumar, Sushma Devi, Poli Devi, Anju Devi and many others were present on the occasion.
Tahir Rufayee, a young entrepreneur is putting all out efforts to support the poor by providing them ration kits in the remote areas of different places in Jammu region with the support of local volunteers.
Langar sewa continued at Panchayat Chadwal for the poor and needy persons. Parshotam Sharma, Ajay Sharma, Anil Panna, Som Dutt Rasoia, Sarpanch Chadwal Seemant Sharma and other volunteers were present on the occasion.
Continuing with the process of distributing essential commodities, MD Banday Memorial Society Poonch visited Sawjian, Khet and Chakrara areas and provided dry food items to the economically backward and differently abled people. Others members of the society present on the occasion were Ajit Singh Jeet, Imran Hussain, Naveed Sheikh, Kuljit Singh, Karnesh Kumar, Liaqat Banday, Jagjit Singh, Sohail Imtiaz, Neeraj Kumar, Sajid Imtiaz, Waqar Ahmed, Waseem Raja, Tanveer Banday and Rameez Khalid.
SC/ST Retired Employee Forum organized a program at Bhartiya Dalit Sahtiya Academy Jammu and distributed dry ration and essential items among the needy families of Buta Nagar, Saryara Mohallah, Paloura. Seva Ram Digra, Retired Director, GSI and Convener of the forum, Sat Paul Bavoria, General Secretary, Som Nath Dogra, Incharge of Bharatiya Dalit Sahtiya Academy, Dr Rakesh Kumar Atri and Roshan Palouria were among others present on the occasion.
Chogan Slathia Welfare Committee started distribution of free ration in various areas to help the people amidst the lockdown in the wake of Covid-19. The committee distributed ration in Panjtirthi, Kachi Chawani, Pacci Dakki, Jalaka Mohalla, Chogan Salathia, Chowk Chabutra and parts of Pacca Danga. Yogesh Sawhney, Former Minister J&K and General Secretary JKPCC Incharge District President Jammu (U) extended his help. The members of the committee who made this endeavour possible included Varun Mangotra, Anand Gandotra, Rohan Magotra, Shekhar Sharma, Ram Swaroop Baru, Raj Singh, Dhyan Singh, Pranav Singh, Sanjeev Thakur and Abhay Singh.
We The Human distributed ration kits and toilet soaps among 15 families at Sector 2 of Gangyal Jammu. Apart from SHO Gangyal Inspector Sunil Singh Jasrotia, Ajab Singh and Sukhdev Singh members of Executive Body “We The Human” were present on the occasion. Chairman of the trust was also present on the occasion.
Social workers of Ward Number 59 Paloura Jammu organised a camp and distributed free ration among needy families. The camp was inaugurated by Ashok Koul, General Secretary (Org) BJP in presence of Parshotam Singh Manhas, Ashok Chib, Kehar Singh, Vinit Singh and other. Dr Sanjogita Sudan Vice President Krida Bharti and Narotam Singh Manhas, Senior Pharmacist were also present on the occasion.
BJP distributed ration to the needy persons in Sainik Colony area of Jammu. Corporator Ward Number 70 Sainik Colony and many others were present on the occasion.
187 Battalion CRPF Battal Ballian Udhampur distributed face mask, soap, tissue paper and sanitizer among labourers and needy person of village Dhanordi and Chopra Shop area of District Udhampur. Second in Command 187 Battalion CRPF Jasbir Singh in presence of Assistant Commissioner Development, Mushtaq Choudhary distributed the articles among the people. Sarpanch Dhanori Anuradha, BDO Madan Mohan, Panchayat Secretary Ravi kumar and Hamida Bano were present on the occasion.
District Youth General Secretary of Panthers Party Sumit Singh Sapan distributed ration among daily wage laborers in Chak Manga Rakwal. ACR Samba Kulbhushan Sharma was also present on the occasion.
SHO Samba Inspector Suraj Pathania along with his team distributed ration and other essential items among the people living in Ward Number 9 area of District Samba.
Ashwani Sharma along with BJP team of Arnia Mandal distributed ration among the needy people at Poyal Suhagpur area in Bishnah constituency.
